Re: FX for Bass

Hi Bartok, I never tried the Octaver FX with a bass, but given what you are reporting above I guess it was calibrated only on the frequencies typically reachable with the guitar.. If so there is nothing you can really do to change its behavior.. But you could try instead the Pitch Glide FX tuned 12 ...

Re: Output configuration

By the way... If I want to use the amp simulation and “Pre” / “Post” effects on my real amp, I imagine I should use only 3 cables, shouldn’t it? 1. Bass —> HD500X (+ “Pre” effects) 2. HD500x’s Send —> Amp FX Return 3. Amp FX Send —> HD500X’s Return (+ “Amp Simulation” + “Post” effects) Is it correc...

Re: Output configuration

Hi, everyone! I have a POD HD500X which I am planning to use with my amp head and my cabinet. For that reason, I had selected “Stack Front” as output configuration, but I have noticed its volume is too low. On the other hand, it sounds OK when I select “Recording/Studio”. I suppose I should be usin...

How to find the sweet spot settings of a tube amp

Most tube amps sound at their best when their controls are set to their sweet spots. But how to find the sweet spot settings of a tube amp? To find the sweet spot of the amp controls you should move them up and down, going from min to max values and vice versa while hearing the guitar-amp signal of ...

Re: FX Return Input

Using the FX Return as an Input greatly reduces the dulling, tone suck compared to Guitar In. I've scoured the forums and no one seems to mention this. Is it worth recommending? FYI all the POD inputs other than GUITAR IN (RETURN included) use 1 MΩ fixed impedance, therefore they behave all the sam...

Volume leveling of different patches

There is a parameter which appears only when the amp model is turned off, and it is called Bypass Volume. When its value is at 100% what passed through the amp (turned off) slot is at unity gain, ie there isn't any volume level loss. This amp-bypassed signal is an excellent and handy term of compari...

Re: Adding a slight boost for soloing

I've some patches that use two amp models: one for distorted, the other for clean. I'd like to add something that will give me a volume boost for the solo. What would you recommend? A Studio EQ fx placed after the path dedicated to the tone for the solo should work nicely, with its GAIN parameter y...
